Kevin Garland and Cindy Olson founded Mountain Fifes and Drums in 2001, and volunteer their time to direct the corps and continue the tradition of ancient music and history.

Kevin Garland performed with the Colonial Williamsburg Fifes and Drums for 7 years and was then employed by Colonial Williamsburg as a living historian. He has also written and arranged music for their fife and drum corps. He is a graduate of Cal State Long Beach with a Bachelor's Degree in Music and is a certified Music Therapist. He performs professionally in several music venues.
